Schedule & Arrival

Request your preferred time online. Choose your preferred location — home, yard. Dr. Dixon arrives calmly, meets your pet and family, and explains everything before starting.

Comfort & Peaceful Passing

Pain and anxiety medication is given first to help your pet relax into deep comfort. Then peaceful euthanasia medication is given, allowing your pet to pass gently in the arms of loved ones.

Transport & Aftercare

Dr. Dixon arranges dignified transportation for cremation or a Euthabag for safer home burial.

How to prepare

Creating a peaceful space for your pet.

There is very little you need to do — Dr. Dixon handles everything. These small things can help the experience feel even more personal.

1. Choose a comfortable spot

Your pet’s favorite bed, blanket, or corner — or your garden. Wherever they feel safest.

2. Gather the people who matter

Children, family members, and other pets are all welcome. No rules — only what feels right

3. Have their favorites nearby

Your pet’s favorite bed, blanket, or corner — or your garden. Wherever they feel safest.

4. Think about aftercare in advance

Same as favorites nearby – needs to change

5. Allow time afterward

Clear your schedule. Give your family space to grieve.

Things to Consider

Your Pet's Food & Medications

Your pet can receive food and their usual medications on the day of our appointment.

Would you like anyone to visit your pet prior to your appointment? Who would you like to be present during the appointment?

Are enjoyable activities an option, given your pet’s condition? Consider a car ride, yummy food, snuggling, or a session with their favorite brush.

What setting would you like to create? A quiet place, low lighting, relaxing music, a photo gallery, flowers, or candles.

What items would you like to include? Your pet’s favorite bed, blanket, or toy.

Would you like to share a poem, letter, or prayer?

Will housemate pets be present during the process or be allowed to say goodbye at the end of the appointment?

How will you care for yourself afterward? Who will support you at this time? Family, friends, a support group, or a healthcare provider.

I am here to support you at this difficult time. If you have any questions before our appointment please feel free to text me.
